Wow, first day back at school and no major panics. That’s my job done.
Today, I returned to education, well, to be more precise, Jamie and me returned to education. Let me explain.
As some of you might know, I haven’t had a very stable den recently. You see, it keeps getting moved about. From Oxforshire to Taunton, Thame to Somerset, and often back again! Own den is more of a then…
This moving around has kept us out of school for quite a while. But both Jamie and me have been wanting to get back to school for a while. Well. Today was that day.
It started, normal enough. Jamie went to be very early Sunday night. Starting the slow down at 9pm and was completely asleep by midnight. That’s a complete record for Jamie. His normal sleep time is around 4am.
Anyway, so back to school today. First up of the day was to go sit in a tutor room with 17 (yes its prime) others from my induction group, with another 17 (yes, we know) from another group on some desks in the room.
Tutor wasn’t that interesting. There was lots of useful information and some not so useful information too. Jamie was feeling rather scared and I could feel him playing around with the top of my bag. He got a bit confused with the timetable but that was quickly sorted. After tutor Jamie went over to the Student Services and waved a hello at the lady he knew there. She said a quick hello to me and we started trying to load up the macbook. I feel asleep at this point but I woke up when I felt a nice stroke as I went to the library.
Next stop was to go look at the IT helpdesk stuff, and try out the PCs. Jamie was not very happy with what the PCs did, but that’s another post another day. We went back to the Student Services and did more hiding before going of to a Computing lesson.
I was listening along in my bag, and it seemed the teacher guy was talking about lions I thought this was ironic. Jamie was talking HTML with one of the guys in his lesson and was talking to him right into town. That’s when he realised he had walked off of the canvas and was late for his tutor meeting. After a couple of hasty phone calls and a bit of quick walking Jamie was back on the school campus and ready to go see his tutor.
After Talking to the tutor, he showed us where to find the café. Jamie brought some lunch and sat at a computer terminal. After a few moment he had started asking the people next to him where they got firefox from and was in moments chatting about IPs and potocals and what not. Jamie had found the geeks.
From then Jamie walked back to the Student Services and said a hello then went home after talking to the nice lady again. Its nice to get to go back to the Student Services place because the people there are nice and it works nice as a base. Sitting in there with Lion is nice. Though I wish I could hide more.
That’s about it.
